Roulette is one of the most famous games in the world of online casinos in Spain. What is Roulette? Story and Game Elements
The term roulette comes from the French “roulette”, which means “small wheel”, and there is evidence of its existence as a game of chance in the Middle Ages, albeit with only 36 numbers on the wheel. It was not until 1842 that it was introduced in the Monte Carlo casino by the Blanc brothers with zero as an option, thus establishing roulette as we know it today.
Regarding the elements of the game, it is divided into a rotating roulette, developed by the mathematician Blaise Pascal, in which the numbers are alternately divided into two colors (red and black): odd red and even black.
In addition, a table is also required on which the different numbers to be bet are distributed and a ball that is thrown into the roulette wheel as soon as it starts moving and that randomly decides the number and color with each throw.
The strategies most commonly used by players in online roulette

As we have already mentioned, the game mechanics are simple. The wheel spins, the ball is thrown and chance decides which number and color it will land on, but… is there a tactic that shows us how to win at roulette or is it just a matter of luck?
The truth is that, like any game of chance, there is no infallible method to win at roulette, but it is also true that in roulette there are different strategies and tricks that can prevent us from betting like crazy and that probability plays in our favor … up to a point. On the other hand, each person is different and if we were to ask each player how to win at roulette, each one would have and has their own way of playing.
However, there are three theories or strategies that have become ingrained in the way roulette is played and online roulette fans play over the years. None of them guarantee success, but they are a good starting point to adapt by at least having a plan. When you ask yourself how to win at roulette, these three strategies are almost always referenced.
These are the 3 most commonly used roulette strategies:
Martingale strategy
This roulette winning strategy, which originated in France in the 18th century, can be used both in the casino and in sports betting or other games of chance. It consists of betting a fixed amount on the initial bet and, if you lose, doubling that amount over and over until you win.
This type of game is usually used for simple bets such as red-black or even-odd, and if the bet is won, the player is guaranteed an advantage equal to the value wagered on the first game.
D’Alembert strategy

This method, also developed in the 18th century by the French mathematician Jean le Rond D’alembert, is based on the so-called law of equilibrium and essentially consists of adding another chip to our bet every time we lose a game.
So if we bet one chip on our first roll and lose, we must bet 2 on the next game and so on until luck and the ball are on our side.
This strategy is also known as the “pyramid” and is a particularly valid betting system for players who want to keep a certain number of bets and their losses to a minimum. In fact, the D’alembert strategy is designed so that, when the number of winning and losing games is the same, the final result offers a positive balance equal to the number of winning games (hence the law of equilibrium).
The Fibonacci sequence
Many have tried to figure out how to win at Roulette and of all the ways to try, this strategy is the most mathematical. It is a strategy based on the Fibonacci number sequence. It was in the 13th century when the mathematician Leonardo Pisano Bigollo ‘Fibonacci’ discovered this number sequence in which each number is the sum of the 2 numbers before it (1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21 – 34-55-89-144-233-377-610).
To focus on how to win at roulette, the Fibonacci sequence is applied in this way: you start by betting a small amount on a single bet (red-black / even-odd…) and if you lose, you continue betting according to this sequence.
In this way, we bet €1 on our first move and if we lose, we increase the amount to €2 and so on. If you have a winning hand, you must go back 2 numbers according to the sequence and bet the amount shown.
It may seem a bit confusing, so it’s best to explain it with an example:
- Bet on black, €3, result: you lose
- You bet on black again, 3 €, result: you lose
- You bet on black again, 6 €, result: you lose
- Black again, 9 €, result: you lose
- Bet on black, 15 €, result: you win
- Bet on black, €6, result: you lose
- You continue to bet on black, €9, result, you win
- Bet on Black, 3 €, Result, Win
- Bet on black, 3 €, result, profit -3 -3 -6 -9 +15 – 6 + 9 +3 +3 +3 = +3
Despite the fact that 5 bets were lost out of 4 won, a profit of €3 was achieved in this way.
